Forum: etree Subject: MP3 track question

Why are the mp3's playing in an order that is not proper to the properly named tracks?
They seemed out of whack, so, I did the following:

~ I opened the metadata edit section, and inserted proper track numbers to correspond to the tracks in order of proper playback. There were no track numbers inserted at this point, so, I thought that that might help, but the tracks are still playing out of order.

thanks for helping the confused newb.

peace

hey mike, the problem is that your file naming was a little off, so they sorted bad:

Disk 2 files:

http://www.archive.org/download/sadeghi/sadeghi_2004-09-04_la/sadeghi_2004-09-04_la2.2/sadeghi2004-09-04d2t01.flac

Disk 1 files:

http://www.archive.org/download/sadeghi/sadeghi_2004-09-04_la/sadeghi_2004-09-04_la_1.2/sadeghi2004-09-04d1t01.flac

that extra underscore before the _1.2 caused the d2 folder to show up first and it went from there. check out the show, make the file naming changes / fresh ffp / md5, DELETE the derivatives that were made (m3u, zip, mp3,etc), check in, fill out the XML file again hit 'submit', go back in, hit derive and you should be okay.
